Vicky Cristina Barcelona is not only the latest work by Woody Allen, director and refined intellectual and ironic.
It 's a true reflection on love, life, and how you choose to interpret their own destiny.
Obviously everything in style Allen.
Vicky and Cristina are two American friends who decide to spend the summer together in Barcelona a few distant relatives of Vicky. The latter can then complete his research for his thesis on Catalan identity, while accompanying her friend to forget yet another story ended badly. One evening at a restaurant
meet Juan Antonio, fascinating Catalan painter who invites them to spend a weekend with him to Oviedo, without hiding the attraction she feels for the two girls. Cristina accepts immediately enthusiastic, while Vicky goes with them not only to leave her friend alone. The weekend proves fatal for Vicky, who falls madly in love with Juan Antonio, entering into a deep crisis.
The latter, however, prefers that Cristina is a free spirit like him. The two live like an intense love story and they move in together. A wreaking havoc in the lives of two arrives Juan Antonio's ex-wife, Maria Elena, a talented artist and complicated. The two are linked by a love passionate but difficult, so the man offers her hospitality, bringing much confusion.
Allen faces two points of view on life and love completely opposite and different from each other: Vicky is rational, analytical, with certain expectations from life instead Cristina takes from life what it is without getting too many questions, and then Juan Antonio Maria Elena live with passion and art. A film
very smooth thanks to witty dialogue and especially to the skill of the cast. Penelope Cruz a beautiful, passionate and complicated. Sublime!
